# Tax Policy

To keep the economy balanced and trading practices fair, a 5% tax is applied in certain transactions. This mechanism regulates zeny circulation and stabilizes item pricing across the server.

### Direct Player Trades

When two players exchange zeny directly, a 5% deduction is applied to the total amount being transferred.

**Example:** If 10,000 zeny is traded, the receiving player obtains 9,500 zeny. The remaining 500 zeny is collected as tax.

### Vending Transactions

Items sold through the vending system are also subject to a 5% tax on the final sale price.

**Example:** If an item is sold for 20,000 zeny, the seller receives 19,000 zeny. The 1,000 zeny difference is collected as tax.

### Tax Overview

| Transaction Type | Tax Rate | Example Amount | Net Zeny Received |
| ---------------- | -------- | -------------- | ----------------- |
| Player Trade | 5% | 10,000 → 9,500 | 9,500 |
| Vending Sale | 5% | 10,000 → 9,500 | 9,500 |

### Purpose of the Tax System

Taxes are not intended as punishment. They serve as a safeguard to maintain a healthy economy. Without regulation, zeny could accumulate unchecked, leading to inflation and diminishing the value of items. The tax system ensures stability and fairness for all players.

#### Core Objectives

* **Economic Regulation** – Prevents inflation by reducing excess zeny in circulation.
* **Fair Trade Practices** – Encourages realistic pricing and thoughtful trading strategies.
* **Sustainable Economy** – Preserves the long‑term value of zeny and items.
* **Community Impact** – Adds depth and realism to the server’s economic environment.
